| Just curious why some people can some how rationalize that there are aliens, but at the same time deny God exists. Is there some proof of aliens somewhere? Anyone brought one home to the folks and said, "mom.. dad.. I would like you to meet Phil. I know he doesn't look like us and isn't human, can’t speak our language, and is an alien from outer space, but I love him." Any neighbor you know have photos or proof of an alien? Anyone? Anywhere? I don’t mean some flaky proof like a fuzzy photograph. I mean real honest, hard to deny, unmistakable proof? I believe there is a possibility of life on other planets. Its hard to imagine there not being other life out there. But I want to understand how someone can have such faith that they whole heartedly believe in aliens, with out a shred of proof, but they cant believe in God. The same thing applies with this whole creationism vs. evolution argument. Someone (and I mean someone who actually knows) explain how these are mutually exclusive. Both are THEROIES. I admit I believe in God and Christ. I believe he created us. How he created us, I don’t know. Was Geniuses a story told to us to answer that 1 question? Was it just to provide a lineage, a starting point so to say? I Doubt it, I am sure there are some other tidbits of wisdom somewhere in there. But I have to say I am not sure about that 1 question yet. But I am not stupid, arrogant, or closed minded enough to not listen to educated and wise people who might be able to shed some light on the subject. I find it interesting that some of our most brilliant scientific thinkers are so blatantly arrogant to say there is no way God exists. Oh Yeah. Well mister/or miss scientist. Answer just one simple little question. What started it all? don’t understand? Let me state it in a different way. What is the source for everything? Big Bang, what created the stuff to go BANG? Evolution, what created the sludge, or the ocean the sludge walked out of? All those galaxies, all those worlds, all those tiny little electrons, how did everything start? What is beyond what we know or can imagine.

| Human Rights organizations are up in arms, spreading political turmoil and terror. Hannibal Lector, President of Human Rights NOW, is angered buy the unfair and inhuman treatment of the detainees. Mr. Lector has graciously asked for better treatment for the detainees, pleading with the totalitarian, Pro American, governments, to start treating these so called terrorists, and dictators with the dignity and respect they so rightfully deserve. According to the Head of the UN Humanitarian Organization, Syrian Ambassador to the UN Ayatollah Hussein, these righteous individuals deserve better than to be treated as common criminals, or American citizens, or occupation forces, or the French youths, or the common peasants living the great lands of the Middle East. During Mr. Lectors eloquent and heartfelt speech he praised former US Attorney General Ramsey Clark for the courage to defend a beloved ruler and to stomp out the imperialist and illegitimate Iraq court. The exalted Mr. Lector also included a damming piece of evidence of the human atrocity brought on by the American occupation of Iraq. Mr. Lector exclaimed, "The honorable and most high ruler of Iraq, Saddam Hussein, has not changed his shirt or underwear in 3 days". After this statement Human Rights advocates from around the globe have pulled all resources from the resource rich and luxurious countries like Ethiopia, Congo, Libya, Syria, Egypt, North Korea, etc. and dedicated everyone to protesting this outrage. American military liaison responded by saying the statement is a complete lie. They know through intelligence sources the Saddam Hussein has been going commando for the last 2 weeks. Asked, how the intelligence agency could possibly know this, the military liaison responded "the military doesnt ask, they don’t tell".

| Okay they might not be straight from hell, but the past few weeks have been fairly stressful. I don’t think I can cover everything so I will just hit the high points. First my wife got into her 3rd accident in 4 years. That’s right, 3 out of 4; she has the comparable driving record to Barry Bonds slugging percentage. My 13 month old son and Mother in Law where in the car when it happened. Fortunately no one was injured and the damage is not large. It also doesn't appear to be her fault. I am always skeptical about it not being her fault because I think she would be scared to tell me if it was her fault. (I would never let he live it down). But after listening to her and my Mother in Law, looking at the damage, and knowing the area that it occurred I am pretty convinced that it indeed could not be her fault. I talked it over with my insurance agent and he agreed, it doesn't sound like it was her fault in any way and that the other person is 100% at fault for the accident regardless of the "what ifs" or inaccuracy between the stories. The fact remains that this other lady pulled out and hit my wife’s car. The lady admitted it was her fault at the scene (she was very rattled when she saw that there was a baby in our car) but since it was such a minor accident and nobody was injured the police where not called, information was exchanged, and everyone went on their way. Well we file a claim with her insurance the next day we provide them the details of the accident and they said they would get back to us. Two days later they call us back and say that their client is saying it was my wife’s fault. (Got to love the honest people) So now we are in the middle of this fight with this insurance company and they are doing everything they can to get out of paying such a small and minor claim. They are spending more money fighting this than it would be for them to just admit it was their clients fault. We have sent them photos, testimony from my wife and Mother in law, diagrams, etc. on what happened. They have backed off on the "it’s not our clients fault" position and now are saying it’s not 100% her fault. We are not backing down, I hate insurance companies to begin with, and I am not about to let them roll over us on this. So that is one thing. The next thing to happen was my wife started getting her migraines again. They actually started just before the accident so we can not honestly say it was not a result of the accident. When she went and saw her chiropractor the Doctor told her she should file it under the accident claim even though he knew it had started previously. Great, thanks Doc. That makes me feel very reassured in your honesty and trustworthiness. Needless to say, we are not going to do that. It just wouldn't be honest. These migraines continue but are getting better each day. Then 2 days after the accident my son, who is now walking, decides it would be a good idea to see what it feels like to fall and cut open his head. Well he didn’t' like it much I can tell you that. He had a nice big welt on his forehead and a good little cut. We took him over to the Doctors just to make sure he was okay and of course he will be fine, but he didn't look good with that big knot on his head. Later that same night he apparently thought it would be good to scare his mother again. This time he tried to knock out the few teeth he has. Well he didn’t' quite succeed in knocking them out but he certainly knocked them loose and caused some good bleeding. Fortunately I have experience with knocking out teeth and didn't see any real damage but my wife was kind of freaked out even after I reassured her he would be fine. Two days after my son tries to give my wife her first heart attack, a nice cold front comes through town. Finally cool weather. Starting to feel like winter. During the cool front we got a nice little wind storm with a little bit of rain. My wife calls me at work during the rain and tells me our roof is leaking. GREAT! So I call the roofing company and schedule an appointment for them to come out and take a look. The same night I am lying in bed reading a book and I hear noises in my attic. AWSOME! It sounds like a rat up in the attic. We live close to a bayou so this is not the first time, or the last, that a rat will find a way into the attic. On top of all this I am working on a project for church as well and we are having a very difficult time getting things accomplished in the time frame we need them to get done. This is just adding to the stress. So here I am:
A beat up son A roof that leaks A damaged car Fighting with the EVIL Insurance companies Rat in the attic Wife with migraines Project for church in jeopardy
While this isn't the worst week and a half ever it sure seems stressful enough. All this is on top of the things I already need to finish around the house. I need a break or two more of me.

| Why are so many blogs about how depressed and angry someone is? I don't doubt they are depressed and angry. I understand that teenagers feel a lot of anger and depression about their lives. They feel rejected, mistreated, misunderstood, etc. But I wonder why there are so many people, not just teenagers, feeling this way. The standard of living in America is so much higher than it was 50 years ago, so why are there so many people depressed, angry, and lashing out? I don't know when this started and I can’t point a finger at any generation or the increased media. All I know is that it continues to escalate. It seems that the tendencies are growing. Can it be attributed to the American appetite for material items? Have we so screwed up our societies priorities that we no longer value the things that make life meaningful and fulfilling? If so how do we fix this? Is the anger and depression a result of the rapid changing society values, structures, and attention? Are we trying to appease and focus on so many issues that no issue gets resolved? Are we just glossing over the issues? What is the root of all this anger and depression?
I don’t know what the root cause is of the anger and depression but maybe a contributing factor to this is the failing or crumbling value structure. We all have personal values and those often times conflict with one another. But what happened to the society value structures. What happened to normal and constant values? Are we so fickle now that we no longer have normal or constant values? I have to say I truly believe that our society is doing the two step. Two steps forward, one step back, throw in a spin, and you have our fluctuating society. Each segment of our society seems to be two stepping to a different song. So while we take a step forward with civil rights, we take a step back on family values. We move forward with progress in the economy and take a spin down the drain with education. Maybe people are so depressed and angry because they can’t get a footing. We no longer have any constants in our society. Everything is gray and situational. Most people I know are not good at dealing with massive simultaneous situational matrixes. People need constants. Families are no longer constant, marriage is not constant, education is not constant, our language is under systemic flux, etc.. Our societal priorities are not constant. I understand everything changes; in fact we want things to change. But how fast? How fast, how many changes, can we handle at once? Are we being bombarded and overwhelmed by change? Is it spinning out of control? Or is it just portrayed that way? Are we focusing on every issue of each small minority or special cause group that we are stuck greasing the squeaking wheel and can’t see the general purpose? Can we pull ourselves out of this? How do we pull ourselves out of this? Where do we start? Has anyone found the easy button for this one? | | |
| Just moved over from the stupid Blogger.com site. What a waste that was. Hopefully this site will be a little better. | | |
